I started the Bachelor in Business Administration programme at ESE Florence two years ago. The possibility to travel and change campuses as well as to have internship experiences around the world were, in my opinion, the biggest advantages and therefore the main reasons for me to study at this College.
After a challenging and intensive academic year in school, I have finally started my internship in London now. Since the beginning of the second year I have been motivated to go to this city and after being here for one month, I have also decided to finish my third bachelor year at the ESE London campus. Even though London has a very competitive market for ambitious students looking for work experiences in international companies, the idea of moving to such a cosmopolitan world city and changing my routine convinced me to go.
Some months before finishing the second term of the specialisation Management that I am studying, I had an interview with IDC, a market research company based in the UK and Ireland. They were looking for an intern for the event management team. This was exactly the kind of management opportunity that I was looking for.
I travelled to London for the interview and it was a successful one; after some general questions about my studies and specialisation at ESE and my personal interests and ambitions, I had to do a short simulation of a call with a client  to prove that I was prepared for the job. Some weeks after the interview they contacted me to inform me that I could work for them as their intern for the following two months.

I have been working for IDC since a month now in the department of events management and it has been a great experience for me so far. I am learning many different work practices and meeting wonderful people. The department I work for mainly manages important events for telecommunication companies and organizes different IT conferences. Last week we had one of the most important events and it was a really interesting opportunity for me to actually learn how you manage these kind of professional events, from the preparations on paper to the actual event. Before the event I did contact research and I organized the invitations for the event. Of course I also worked during the entire event, welcoming delegates, helping in the organization of the programme and coordinating the event.

I have to say that I am very  happy with my choice for this internship. I am having a really good time. I do not only enjoy this incredible city, but I also benefit from this valuable work experience.
